"A Walk on the Mild Side"

Caregivers and those living with chronic disease are invited to come together for an opportunity to interact with horses trained to support humans in the art of equine-assisted learning. Absolutely no horse experience is needed, and there is no riding involved. Registration is limited to six participants so early registration is recommended.

• May 18-19: Spring 2012 Retreat, Our Lady of the Pines Retreat Center, Fremont, Ohio
• Early Summer - Launch of AWBA's on-line virtual community to include blogs, discussion forums, videos, resource pages, prayer walls, etc.

Those experiencing the challenges of life-altering diseases, and those who care for them, may feel isolated in their quest to find God in the midst of the disease onset, or in their desire to bring God into the daily challenges imposed upon themselves and those who support them. AWBA programs and services are targeted toward the spiritual needs of men and women who find themselves, or someone they love, living with a chronic disease and seeking new ways to experience God in the midst of that always changing journey.

Always We Begin Again provides a referral bank of spiritual directors who feel called to serve those impacted by chronic disease. In addition, retreats, workshops, discussion groups and Internet-based opportunities are available. Participants join together to listen to God and support one another with the guidance of a spiritual director, whether in person or via the internet in a virtual community. Retreat and workshop themes will vary depending upon the spiritual needs and physical capabilities of those being served.
